I try to listen to music outside of my comfort zone. To accomplish this, my sister purchases music for me and sends me CDs to play at work. Personally, I like the the music she chooses. Katie's tastes cover a wide variety of styles and she does a pretty good job picking stuff I like.
Kristin said the Decmberists sounded like I was being attacked by a band of gypsys.
BM said the lady on Dresden Dolls "sounded like someone had a hold on his privates wailing."
I told him tuneful music was out of style.
Oh well, to each his own.

i have FOUR amazing new mixes for you. I left them at home. Scott is supposed to mail them to you but I don't know how reliable he will be. call and harrass. Oh and I found your Ella Fitzgerald too. Hopefully he'll get those in the mail to you.
the decemberists and the dresden dolls are both an acquired taste for the musically uninformed. You are part of the privelage elite because you instantly recognized their beauty. Now let's go beat up Greg Kot.
